These are the original demo recordings of the Desert Magic album, True Power, a collection of musical settings of the Tao Te Ching as translated by Ursula K. Le Guin. The tracks show the nascent stages of these compositions and are mostly sparse arrangements for voice, resonator guitar, and viola da gamba. The album also features wondrous guest vocals by Lydia as well as a rockin' arrangement of 'Heavy Is the Root of Light' by Logan. All of these tunes were composed in the context of the sadfam community. Thanks, sadfam!
